VOLUNTEERS CONTINUE WORKING WITH CHILDREN IN FOUR ORPHANAGES IN HAITI.

Fourteen Headwaters Relief Organization volunteers traveled to Haiti from September 18 to 24, 2010. Over half of the volunteers had participated in Headwaters’ first trip to Haiti in July. The volunteers continued their work with children in four orphanages that they had visited during their July trip and spent time in two new orphanages.

One of the highlights of the trip was an impromptu performance by a young Haitian man who performed a song that he had written about living through the earthquake. Headwaters volunteers have since sent a tape of his song to several music producers in the United States.

Headwaters Relief Organization also funded the purchase of school textbooks for one of the community schools. Headwaters will continue to look for ways to make a difference in this country of overwhelming need, including fundraising to provide food for the children in the orphanages.

Donations to the Headwaters Relief Organization can be made payable to the Headwaters Relief Organization Fund, and all donors will receive a charitable tax deduction receipt in the mail. In order to donate, please contact Cheryl Vennerstrom, at 763-450-5007, or e-mail her at cvennerstrom@orionassoc.net.
