Severe thunderstorms struck Minnesota’s Northland, including the Duluth area, beginning on Tuesday, June 19th. More than half a foot of rain fell in just a few hours, resulting in the most severe flooding in several decades. In response, more than fifty people volunteered and Headwaters Relief Organization was able to send seven teams to assist in the relief efforts, beginning a few days after the disaster on June 28th, through July 31st.
