October 14, 2013 – Golden Valley, MN – A group of volunteers from Headwaters Relief Organization will head for Colorado on Thursday, October 17, 2013 to assist with relief efforts still underway after catastrophic flooding devastated nearly 2,000 square miles of the state. Approximately 30 volunteers will work in the areas in and near Lyons and  Boulder, Colorado from October 18th to October 20th.

The group will be coordinating with local faith-based organizations to provide clean up and other supports as requested. In addition, a community event in Boulder will be held on Saturday, October 19 to assist children suffering effects of trauma. Several volunteers will meet early Thursday morning at the Orion Associates corporate headquarters to drive to Colorado.  Many of these volunteers have assisted with disaster relief efforts after Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina, floods in Southern Minnesota, Haiti and other areas
