A group of volunteers from Headwaters Relief Organization will head for Arkansas on Thursday, May 29, 2014 to assist with relief efforts still underway after a deadly tornado that struck a large area west of Little Rock on April 27, 2014. The volunteers will be in Arkansas from May 20 to June 2, 2014.

21 volunteers will work in Faulkner County, Arkansas, an area that includes the towns of Mayflower, Vilonia and Conway where much of the damage from the tornado occurred.   Headwaters Relief will coordinate with local organizations to provide clean up of residential homes and other supports as requested. Headwaters Relief is a non-profit collaboration of volunteers providing practical aid, physical recovery assistance and mental health support to victims of disaster.

Several volunteers will leave late Friday evening from the Orion Associates corporate headquarters to drive to Arkansas.  Many of these volunteers have assisted with disaster relief efforts after Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina, floods in Boulder County, Colorado and other areas.
