During the March, 2016 trip to Haiti, Headwaters volunteers saw that the 8 children of La Benediction orphanage were sleeping without mattresses on wire beds; and, at Jaguar’s school, where dozens of kids go to school, there was no fence between the playground and a busy road. Before the flight back to the U.S., these volunteers made a vow to raise the funds necessary for these basic and important projects.
Within a few weeks of their return, funds were raised among themselves and their friends and associates and the projects are now a reality. The fence was constructed with the generous help of Jonathon Euler of Beehive International, and mattresses were delivered last week by our team on the ground. Many thanks to this amazing show of initiative and for the generous support of all those who contributed.
